Herodion Palace

This castle was built in a circular shape on top of a hill 6 km southeast of Bethlehem. This castle contains the remains of a huge palace built by King Herod for his wife in 37 AD. There are also decorations, circular walled buildings, fortified rooms, bathrooms, and gardens. Herodion Hill overlooks the landscape and provides a wonderful view of the Dead Sea.
