The beautiful village of Battir, which was listed on the UNESCO List of World Heritage Sites for its century’s old terraces and unique landscape, implements its famous Eggplant Festival during the month of October. Agriculture is an integral part of Palestinian culture, and eggplants are considered a local specialty in the village. Apart from enhancing the steadfastness of people to their land and passing down the tradition from one generation to another, through this festival, the people of Battir anticipate attracting both locals and foreigners to the village to enjoy its beautiful landscape.
